Across
the bay from the Golfito waterfront and marinas, you will find a small, uncrowded
beach with property available at Playa Cacao.
It is reached by a 10 minute boat ride from the Port of Golfito, or a rough 4WD
road around the northern end of the bay. The water at this beach is calm
as a swimming pool, and deep enough for boat anchorage. The area is surrounded
by the Golfito Wildlife Refuge, with hiking trails and primary evergreen rain forests.
The community consists of a few residential homes, some cabinas and
a small restaurant. Beach property and beachfront leases are under the jurisdiction
of the municipality of Golfito, electricity and city water are available,
as well as cell phone signal service.
