Full Description:
Blue Pockets
Nearly 1000 feet of River frontage, the deep blue pockets in the bends of this crystal-clear river (Rio Camacho) will surely delight you and let the ‘kid out’, refreshing and joyful, this is ‘Good for the Soul’ kind of stuff.
That’s one of the best things about being in Costa Rica, enjoying Nature however you choose. Let your hair down, kick off your shoes.
If you are truly looking for a new adventure, you could joyfully own 2.3 Acres of Titled land with 995 ft. of River frontage. It’s just the beginning of Rainy Season, skies are blue for the most part during the morning hours. I’ve found the mornings here to be my best part of the day. When I visited and experienced this property, the river-flow was enjoyable, I guess you could say, ‘It was happily flowing’, non-violent. Like all rivers in Costa Rica, the rains will allow the river to swell and appear angry, but when the rains cease the next morning, we’ll be treated once again to gentle flowing ‘n blue pockets.
This could be an excellent place for a Container Home if you are not planning on being here 24/7, I like how they can be locked up so well or if you are looking for a business to maintain your livelihood this could be a sweet riverside business. Small sleeping Pods, hammocks, Picnic tables too, it’s cooler up here at 1397 feet in altitude, so evenings will be refreshing, and don’t forge, in just 39 minutes, you can be down on the coast sweating.
The Bay in Golfito is a great place to keep a boat if you like to get out on the Golfo Dulce. I’ve spent the past 35 years in these parts and about 14 of those years a boat was needed to get home, I can offer advice on boating up into the gulf. Another wonderful past time. If you enjoy diving, snorkeling, sightseeing and just plain boating, oh and fishing too, the Golfo Dulce is incredible.
Property Details:
• The Property lies directly North of the New Golfito Marina on the bay.
• It will take approximately 39 minutes according to maps and is 19kms away.
• Altitude is 1397 feet in elevation.
• 2.3 Acres bordering Rio Camacho.
• A 4x4 is recommended, you’ll be traveling on dirt roads most of the way up.
• The road has good gravel all the way up to the property, a lot of rock has been laid down on this road over the years. If for any reason the road becomes messy this is the reason a good 4x4 is needed in CR.
• Leaving Golfito, you’ll be driving through the back road to Highway 2 passing through ‘La Gamba.’
• The town of San Miguel is a very small community of agricultural farmers. Cattle mostly have grazed in these parts. It’s very picturesque with the mountains in the backgrounds.
• The area has some incredible waterfalls on various properties, to access some you may not even need permission. Caves too!
• The country side up here is very very beautiful.
• The property has a dirt lane/driveway going to the end of the property.
• Old growth forests line the river area, most farmers have always protected their waters.
• A large building area has been maintained, it is now grassy with a few Bananas planted Pineapples too.
• The owner is Tico and the land has been in the family for many years, it was farmed years ago and this 2.3 Acres is a very small portion of the whole. Not sure if more would be available.
• As you get closer to the river there are several smaller shade trees, perfect for hanging hammocks a natural occurrence!
• Note in one picture there is an opening cut in the bank and a blue pocket below, it’s a Slide when lined w/plastic, great video, happy children too.
• The land has never been developed and the current owner is moving some dirt by hand, so he carefully selects areas needing attention, and then clearing out some of the undergrowth and planting suitable fruit and or palms or trees beneficial to the environment.
• The largest building area is naturally higher than the river, I’d say it’s a good 10ft higher than the river level, but being that the property is so high up, the water is busy making its way to the coast, this is not a flood zone.
• Electricity at roadside, spending about $500 for a meter and you can order an electrical connection.
• Water too is at the road.
• A small convenient store is about 10-15 minutest downhill, major shopping would be 20 minutes into Rio Claro on highway 2. When in Golfito as well everything is available, even shopping at the duty free for domestic appliances, liquor and the like.
I remind you, if you’re coming to Costa Rica, don’t forget to pack the Dream Machine.
