This property has been SOLD
A Beautifully Landscaped Paradise. With Fruit Trees Galore, manicured building areas, including gulf views, and plenty of old growth huge trees.
Known as the last (wild) frontier, the Osa Peninsula is in the southwestern part of the Country. Corcovado National Park is the crown jewel of a world-renowned National Park System. It includes thirteen separate ecosystems, almost one hundred species of trees and nearly four hundred species of birds.
Corcovado has been called the most biologically intense place on earth by no less an authority then the National Geographic Society. Here among the largest trees of Costa Rica can be found the densest population of tapirs, jaguars, and scarlet macaws in Meso-America.
This is for people that enjoy being active. There is always plenty to do here. I have always found it amazing how one man can maintain all the lawn alone. There has never been a time I have not visited and found the grounds in superb condition.
Consider this property unique in several ways.
+Close to town (Puerto Jimenez) only about 15 minutes from the airport, banking, medical clinic, and a nice variety of restaurants to choose from.
+The Ocean (Golfo Dulce) is only about 10 minutes by car.
+The property has two distinct building zones
+Most impressive is the well landscaped and manicured high zone with multiple building areas. Its huge; there are at least 5 acres or more with distant Ocean Views. The land has such character, hilltops, large trees and a huge sprawling lawn. Its lovely; I have not encountered a property to date as attractive with such diversity of Fruit Trees, pineapples, bananas, guanabana, lemons, mangos and a very impressive Zapote tree at least 100 feet tall which produces thousands of giant fruits every season with plenty room for more plantings.
+The low zone is down alongside the ½ mile riverfront, suitable for small cabins in close proximity for nearby river dips on a hot day. The river Agujas, ahh-goo-haas, is not a fast-flowing river, it goes without saying in the rainy season the volume increases considerably.
+Both zones have forest all around, huge old growth trees, the owner still discovers new trees all the time on his nearly daily jungle treks. The beautiful forest is attractive to the surrounding animals, birds and mammals. Animals seen include Jaguars, (two sightings just this year} sloths, anteaters, agoutis, 3 species of Monkeys, birds, butterflies, toucans and much more.
+ Electricity along the river (low zone) was installed by a neighbor upstream, only poles would be needed, a fairly easy connection, with its own entrance.
+ Springs: there are three on the property providing clean year-round fresh water, and a 5000 gal. cement tank.
+A small cement swimming pool measuring 5ft. deep x 4ft.wide x 10 ft. long has been installed adjacent to the larger home, equipped with rain-flow fill up. Under the wooden sunset deck a concrete block water-reserve tank was built measuring 10 x 10 deep.
+Property is in a corporation, also available with the sale including 5 separate titles and surveys.
Old Growth for Conservation. Aside from this 78 Acre property there are other properties that also border this property that may be of interest. for those wanting to preserve more land. On the back side there is a property of 91 Acres also bordering on the river. This property has old growth too. Neighbor is selling for $300,000
As well, if you are really concerned and would like to help protect and plant forest and trees, buying the palm plantation down below and bordering the opposite side of the river, and extending the forest will not only benefit the animals but restore and protect the river and help to protect the already standing forest in this area.
Structures on Site
5 yrs ago two homes were constructed. The young couple that previously owned the property were going to create a Yoga Community, their idea for the homes were to keep them as natural and open as possible. You'll notice from the pictures the unique style, open-aired. This may not be your dream but the two homes are comfortable and move-in ready, while you plan your future constructions. The homes are great tropical rentals or family guest houses.
The big house is two stories. From the sky it appears like a huge leaf, which was the intention, A big hat as they say, keeps your boots dry. In this case the large overhang keeps the open living/kitchen area dry throughout the rainy season, sure, an occasional heavy blows keep us on our toes, and reminds us we are in the rainforest..........its to be expected, we give thanks for the abundance of fresh, chemical free drinking water.
The big two-story house only has one bedroom, its the entire top floor and it was designed to be the Main Home for the owners. Plenty of room to rearrange for a child's bed if needed.
The Second Home is much smaller but has two bedrooms and again, A big hat to keep our open lifestyle as dry as possible. The idea behind building in the tropics and especially in Costa Rica is to enjoy nature.
The Extended Family Compound.
There is plenty of space to build multiple structures on the property, the beautiful trimmed spacious lawn has fruit trees planted everywhere, with large open spaces for constructions, a family compound.
