The Rainforest Santuary is located in the South Pacific of Costa Rica
The property is located 5 miles north of Golfo Dulce at the small rural community named La Gamba, and just 2.5 miles away from Piedras Blancas National Park.
The Rainforest Sanctuary was established in 2007 with a mission to conserve tropical rainforest resources, such as the biodiversity, ecological services, water sources and air quality.
The property is 46.7 acres, from which 33 acres are mostly tropical rainforest under a conservation policy, the re maining13.7 acres are used for building areas, ornamental gardens and organic agriculture under permaculture concepts.
It is important to mention that the Rainforest Sanctuary is home to an endemic species of plant, which was found in the gardens of the property by the botanists Barry Hammel and Reinaldo Aguilar in the year 2014. This is a strong proof of the high endemism in the area and conservation commitment of the project. The plant was named after the project, as species Pentagonia Gambagam.
There are two important protected areas neighboring the property. The Piedras Blancas National Park (34973 terrestrial acres and 2965 marine acres), which is only 2.5 miles away and the Golfito National Wildlife Refuge which was formed with governmental (2148 acres) and private lands ( 4761 acres). This refuge is the Rainforest Sanctuary�???�??�?�¢??s nearby neighbor at the back of the property across the river named Quebrada Bolsa.

Two Water Springs
The property manages its own water resource. One of the springs is in use and
piped to a catchment tank (4200 liters) with an overflow back to creek. Water was pumped to catchment tanks that hold 6400 liters and distributed by gravity
to the infrastructure. The volume of this spring is between 21600 and 86400 liters per day. The second spring is untouched
